Devologists (“Devologists”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit devologists.com (the “Site”), contact us, or work with us, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are
Devologists is a software development and technology services agency. For anything related to this policy, contact us at info@devologists.com.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact and project requests — when you submit the form on our Contact page or email us, we collect your name, email address, company name (optional), the type of project, an approximate budget range and your message.
- Correspondence — the content of emails, calls and messages you exchange with us, including meeting notes and files you share.
- Client information — if you become a client, we collect the details needed to deliver and invoice our services (business details, billing contact, access credentials you choose to share for the project, and project materials). These are governed primarily by our service agreement with you.
- Comments and subscriptions — if you comment on our blog or subscribe to updates, we collect your name, email address and the content you submit.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data — pages viewed, links clicked, time on page, referring site, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
- Device data — browser type and version, operating system, screen size and language.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see section 6.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16, and the Site is not directed at them.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- respond to your enquiries and prepare proposals;
- deliver, manage and invoice the services you engage us for;
- communicate with you about projects, updates and support;
- operate, secure and improve the Site, including understanding which content is useful;
- send occasional updates about our work and services where you have agreed to receive them (you can unsubscribe at any time);
- comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Legal bases (where applicable)
If you are in the EU, UK or another jurisdiction with similar requirements, we process your information on the following bases: performance of a contract (responding to requests and delivering services), legitimate interests (operating and improving the Site, security, business communications), consent (marketing emails and non-essential cookies), and legal obligation (accounting and compliance).
5. Who we share information with
We share personal information only with:
- Service providers who help us run the business — for example web hosting, email delivery, form handling, analytics, CRM, invoicing and video conferencing providers. They may only use your information to provide their services to us.
- Professional advisers such as accountants, lawyers and insurers where necessary.
- Authorities where required by law, court order or to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others.
- A successor business in the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to the same protections.
Some providers may be located outside your country. Where that happens we take steps to ensure your information remains protected, such as using providers with recognised safeguards or standard contractual clauses.
6. Cookies and analytics
The Site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies:
- Essential cookies — needed for the Site to work, for example to protect forms from spam and to remember your preferences.
- Analytics cookies — [e.g. Google Analytics] helps us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it. These are set only with your consent where the law requires it.
- Embedded content — pages may embed content from third parties (such as scheduling tools or video), which may set their own cookies subject to their policies.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect how the Site works.
7. How long we keep information
- Enquiries that do not lead to a project: up to 24 months, so we can follow up if you return.
- Client records: for the duration of our relationship and as long afterwards as required for accounting, legal and warranty purposes (typically 7 years).
- Analytics data: in aggregated or pseudonymised form for up to 26 months.
- Marketing preferences: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and secure handling of any credentials shared for a project. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work hard to protect your data and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a breach where the law requires it.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct or delete it;
- object to or restrict certain processing;
- receive a copy of your information in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent;
- complain to your local data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@devologists.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law and may need to verify your identity first.
10. Third-party links
The Site may link to websites we do not control. Their privacy practices are their own, and we encourage you to read their policies.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. If the changes are significant, we will make that clear on the Site or contact you directly where appropriate.
